In 1990, a man told his children that their mother abandoned them, so she could live with another man in California. Their children, ages 13, 17, and 21, were suspicious. Truth is, the man had killed his wife in 1990, and had been cashing her disability checks for years. Two weeks before she "disappeared," Alice Hummel had learned that her husband was sexually molesting their 13 year-old daughter. Alice promised her daughter, it will never happen again. Hummel's children declared their mother missing in 2001. I've managed to accomplish many things with my 3 day weekend: movies, reading, a few naps, a hair cut, brunch with my son, and just taking some time to sit back and be.

What a month.
I got home from Oklahoma City on Monday, June 9, and worked the rest of the week.
Then on Monday, June 16, I flew to Washington D.C. to take part in an expert panel on homelessness and cognitive impairment.
I spent all day Tuesday taking part in the panel, and then flew home Wednesday evening.
Before flying home on Wednesday, I spent a few hours walking around downtown Washington, D.C.
I stood in front of The White House, walked around the Federal Triangle, and had a super lunch before coming back home.
Then I took a few days off.
And I'm still trying to recuperate!
Ha!
I'm embracing my inner travel wuss, because I have not traveled for so many years.
So I'm back, and will start visiting and commenting on your blogs, because I have missed you all. Watching or ordered
